GREEN BAY – If you’re among those who thought the New York Giants were trying to run up the score by going for it on fourth down twice during their final possession in their 38-10 rout of the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers says the Giants were actually doing the right thing by not kicking a field goal.

Already up 38-10 when they took over with 14:16 left in the game, the Giants held the ball for the next 9 minutes 23 seconds, driving from their own 14-yard line to the Green Bay 1. Twice during the possession, they faced fourth downs – fourth-and-2 from the Packers’ 34, and fourth-and-goal from the Packers’ 1 – and went for it each time. They converted the first with a 17-yard Eli Manning completion and failed on the second when Manning threw incomplete in the end zone.

Rodgers said Tuesday during his radio show on 540 ESPN and ESPNWisconsin.com that the Giants were doing the right thing and weren’t rubbing the Packers’ noses in it.

“I think it was the right play to do, I really do,” Rodgers said. “If you’re judging by in game etiquette I think it was what you do. I think kicking a field goal right there is adding extra points to the board unnecessarily.

“I think that most people would agree with me, I really do. I think you run the ball most of the time in those situations, (and then) you go for it on fourth down. If it works you have given the defense a chance to stop you; if you kick a field goal you’re adding, in my opinion points without reason.

Znači Rodgers se ne slaže sa mnom nego sa Starrom.

Green Bay - The Green Bay Packers put tight end Andrew Quarless and safety Sean Richardson on injured reserve and signed running back DuJuan Harris and wide receiver Jeremy Ross off their practice squad to their 53-man roster, the club said Saturday.

Nisu neki ključni igrači, ali stvarno za nevjerovat koliko povrijeđenih igrača imamo ove sezone.

Green Bay - WR Donald Driver (thumb) will be inactive for the first time since Nov. 7 of 2010 and just the fourth time since the start of the 2002 season.

Driver did not practice all week because a decision was made to give him time to let his thumb heal. It's likely he could have played if really needed.

The Packers will have RB DuJuan Harris and WR Jeremy Ross, both signed off the practice squad Saturday night, on the active list.
