Washington named James Wright as team president. He's the NFL's first Black team president.
Wright, a former running back in the league and a partner for the global strategy and management consulting firm, McKinsey & Company, will lead the Football Team's business divisions, including operations, finance, sales, and marketing. At 38, he's the youngest president in the NFL. "It's a culture transformation first to make sure that we have an organization that people want to be a part of and that itself will start to expand the value of the franchise and make the good things happen," Wright told ABC's Good Morning America. In a statement, Wright said "transformation of the Washington Football Team is happening across all aspects of the organization – from football to operations to branding to culture – and will make us a truly modern and aspirational franchise."
