RENTON, Wash. -- Seattle Seahawks running back Fred Jackson was uninjured Tuesday after being involved in a single-car accident.
The incident occurred as Jackson left the team's practice facility just prior to 5 p.m. PT. Following the crash, in which his car collided with a large planter box before hitting a stop sign, Jackson was taken back to the practice facility by team personnel after speaking with officers.
Renton Police public information officer David Leibman said if Jackson is cited, it would be for inattention to driving, which is a minor offense.
Jackson was driving a black Chevrolet Corvette that crashed at the corner of Seahawks Way and Lake Washington Boulevard.
Reports that Jackson was drag racing with teammate Marshawn Lynch were called false by the police department, which said there was no indication Jackson was racing at the time of the incident.
Jackson tweeted, "Thanks 2 everyone worried about me. I lost control of my car. My teammates, including Marshawn, stopped 2 check on me. They weren't racin me"..
